Carolyn Josephine Chapman, age 62, of the Rush Creek community in Glade Spring, Va., passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 16, 1956, in Washington County, Va., to the late John Barlow and Dori Widener Barlow. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; daughter-in-law, Regina Chapman and several aunts and uncles.
Carolyn was an employee of Johnston Memorial Hospital where she had worked as a cook for 17 years. She was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include two sons, Jonathan Chapman and wife Mary of Glade Spring, Va., and Allen Chapman of Glade Spring, Va.; three grandchildren, Jessie Chapman and fiancé, Katie Tiller, Joey Chapman, Ashley Chapman and significant other, Doug Shatley; two great grandchildren and two more on-the-way; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special extended family and many friends at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel with Rev. Kenneth Poston officiating. Interment will follow in the Baptist Cemetery at Glade Spring, Va.
Pallbearers will be Jessie Chapman, Joey Chapman, Adam Davenport, Jeffery Yarber, Justin Yarber, Doug Shatley and Hunter Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Cannon and Hugh Barlow.
