Carolyn Dorcas Leonard, 84, of Abingdon, Virginia passed from this life into Heaven on December 8th, 2023 after a lengthy battle with dementia.
Carolyn was born in Abingdon, Virginia to the late Stuart and Edna Lilly where they owned and operated Lilly Trading Post for many years.
Carolyn had a God–given talent for playing the piano and organ; she taught piano lessons to several people over the years. She was also famous for her fried chicken and gravy and angel biscuits. Carolyn never met a stranger; she was a friend to everyone that knew her. She had a smile that could light up any room.
Carolyn was a lifelong member of Greendale chapel.
In addition to her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by sister, Janice Scott and husband, Ivan. Brothers, Kermit Lilly and wife Evelyn, Gene Lilly and wife, Nancy and John Lilly.
Left to cherish her memories is husband Battie Leonard of Georgia. Son, Randy Grubb and wife Michelle of Abingdon, daughter Vickie Swicegood and husband Brandon of Abingdon, stepsons, Greg Leonard and Todd (Debra) Leonard of Georgia, grandsons Zach Keith, Christopher Keith and Ethan Grubb, sister-in-law, Vivian Lilly of Bristol, Virginia, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Special friend, Lorrie Keith of Saltville, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held at the Valley View Cemetery on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11::00 a.m.
