Carol Ann Wood, age 80, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Carol was born to the late James Robert and Mable Lucille Sykes. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was rooted in faith and family. Known for her warm spirit and deep love for Scripture, she found great joy in talking about the Bible and sharing her love for the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Wood, and her daughter, Theresa Dawn Wood.

Carol is survived by her children: James Stephen Wood (Hilary), LaVonda Wood, and Todd Wood; her grandchildren: Joshua Carter, Jacob Carter, Kyle Wood, and Kate Wood; her sister, Reba Wickham; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home Chapel in Abingdon, Virginia. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 P.M., with Ben Repass officiating. Interment will be held at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
