Buddy H. Parris, 73, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 14, 1946, in Abingdon, Va., to the late Joseph “Joe” Parris and Elizabeth Blackwell Parris. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Buddy enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and was an avid cattle farmer. He attended Shady Grove Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ann Parris; one daughter, Bethany Hubbard and husband Jacob of Bristol, Va.; one sister, Kate Murray of Abingdon, Va.; mother-in-law, Imogene Gregory of Abingdon, Va.; four sisters-in-law, Teresa Wilson and husband Ralph, Bonnie Roark and husband Gary, Jackie Gregory, Scarlett Atwood and husband Jackie; two brothers-in-law, Steven Gregory and wife Donna, and Terry Gregory and wife Lisa; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2019, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Adam Wise and Rev. Paul Price officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be McKinley Miller, Darren Akers, Butch Bowers, Jim Crabtree, Sammy Crabtree and Gary Raines. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Dutton, Freddie Tweed, L.J. Doss, Pete Hubbard, Jimmy Church, Ken Johnson and Mark Barrett.
