Bonnie Parker

Bonnie A. Parker, 88, of Abingdon, Virginia went to be with her Savior on Thursday, October 31, 2024, following several months of illness.


She is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Donald Parker, of 26 years; three sons, George Risinger of Abingdon, VA, Paul Risinger of Van Buren, AR, and David Risinger of Fort Smith, AR; three step-children, Donna Parker Campbell of Abingdon, VA; Linda Parker Taylor of Manassas, VA, and Joseph Parker of Manassas, VA; three sisters, Nellie Webb of Fort Smith, AR, Juanita Youngblood of Panama City, FL, and Joyce. Also survived by seven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.


Bonnie was predeceased by her sister and brothers Virginia Burgett, Merlin Foster, Jerry Foster, Junior Foster, Kenneth Foster, Irene and Retsiel Forest Moree.

Bonnie was employed at Hickory Springs Foam in Fort Smith, AR. She was known for her crocheting, making tablecloths, capes, and many other items for craft shows and friends.


She was very active in Cleveland Evangelical Presbyterian Church, teaching Sunday school and assisting her husband in providing a monthly Newsletter for the congregation. Bonnie was also on the Planning Committee for the Cleveland Community Center.


Visitation and funeral service will be held at Cleveland Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 18076 Cleveland Church Rd, Abingdon, VA 24211, on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rick Laney and Rev. Tom Musselman officiating. Committal service will follow in the Cleveland Evangelical Presbyterian Church Cemetery with a reception at the Cleveland Community Center to follow.
