Bobby Marvin Lester, 83, passed peacefully on April 02, 2024 at Bristol Regional Hospital.
Bobby was born on October 31, 1940 to the late Tivis and Ellen Lester in Harman, VA.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved and adored his family above all. He was an avid golfer, skilled wood craftsman and fisherman, and loved shopping with his wife. He worked for Norfolk & Western for over 30 years, from which he retired. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958-1962. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk and Simple Rhythms in Abingdon, VA.
Including his parents, Tivis and Ellen Lester, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, 11 months, and 25 days, Brenda Lester; grandson, Connor Wayne Turner; siblings, J.D. Lester, Raymond Lester, Maxine Farmer, Jackie "Jack" Lester, and Jeff Lester.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise Lester Carawan and husband Ronnie, Cindy Lester Turner and husband Wayne; three grandchildren; Katie Thacker, Robbie Bolton, and Casey Turner; great-grandson, Greyson Thacker; sister, Patricia Chappell; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A visitation will be held on April 08, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow visitation at 1:30 PM with Pastor Craig Barber officiating. Interment will take place at Knollkreg Memorial Park.
