Betty Jo Taylor, 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 20, 1961, to the late Montague and Gertie Helton.
Jo was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and neighbor. She loved being a “Granny” more than anything and found her greatest joy in caring for the people she loved. A natural-born caretaker, she always put others before herself. She enjoyed spending time outdoors,
taking pride in her home and her lawn, where she found peace and purpose. She welcomed everyone into her home and especially loved cooking for her family.
She worked for several years as a resident advisor at Pennington’s Rest Home and also spent many years in retail, where she formed lasting friendships through her kindness and warm personality.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Taylor; one brother, Montie Helton; and two sisters, Brenda Prater and Carolyn Venable.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Stephanie Reynolds (Jason) and Heather Minton; four grandchildren, Chloe Fuller, Hope Wagner, Taylor Reynolds, and Layne Reynolds; two brothers, Ron Helton and Johnny Helton; and special friend, Libby Hamilton.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Frost Funeral Home with a service to follow at 2:00 P.M. with Crystal Hubbard officiating. Committal service will be held privately.
Frost Funeral Home & Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Ms. Betty Jo Taylor.
