Bettie Buckles Minton, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home on October 30, 2025. She was born on February 12, 1949, in Washington County, Virginia.
Bettie lived a joyful and fulfilling life, sharing her warmth, humor, and love of music and nature with everyone she met. A talented musician, she could play the banjo, piano, and mandolin. She especially loved playing and listening to old-time music. Bettie enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, spending time outdoors surrounded by the beauty of nature, and could always be tempted by anything sweet to eat.
She was a devoted member of Rosedale Baptist Church and spent the last years of her life sharing her faith in Christ with anyone that would listen.Â
Bettie was married for 55 years to her loving husband, Allen Minton, and they shared a life filled with love and devotion. She is also survived by her daughter, Brenna Hinchey and husband Erik; her grandchildren, Colby Hinchey (Holly), Emily Galloway (Chase), and Elizabeth Hinchey; her great-grandchildren, Opal Hinchey and Church Hinchey; her brother, Joe Buckles (Debbie); and multiple nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her dog, Arlo, will miss her greatly, as he was her constant companion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Virginia Buckles; her brother, William Buckles; and her sister, Barbara Woodard.
A graveside service will be held on November 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Rosedale Baptist Church.
