Barbara Ann Parris Rutledge

Abingdon, VA.

Barbara Ann Parris Rutledge, 71, went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Rutledge was born December 16, 1949 to the late Sanford and Eleanor Price Parris in Abingdon, VA.

Mrs. Rutledge was a lifelong resident of Washington, Co. She had a heart of gold, always putting others before herself. Brighton has been a blessing in Mrs. Rutledge life for over nine years where she cherished many memories and adventures with him. She retired from NHC of Bristol where she worked for many years.

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Ransome; and one brother, Timothy “Timo” Parris.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Parris; special son, Brighton Light; five sisters, Rita DeFriece, Vivian Parris, Lisa Testerman (Jimmy), Ruth Scott (Charles), and Virginia “Jenny” Stallard (Karl); mamaws best friend, granddaughter, Emily Smith; special niece, Jennifer Gray and special nephew, Christopher Spencer; also, many other nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 5 PM until 6 PM at Frost Funeral Home with a service following at 6 PM with Pastor Pat Mooney officiating.
