Audrey Ann Smith  3/24/1942 – 9/2/2024

“My flesh and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, my portion forever.” ---Psalm 73:26

After 82 glorious years here on earth, Audrey Ann Stiltner Smith entered her eternal heavenly home with her Savior on Monday, September 2, 2024, surrounded by love.

Formerly of the Homecreek section of Grundy, Virginia, she was the last daughter born to the late Corbitt and Alice Stiltner.  Audrey was tiny but mighty and like Ruth, more precious than diamonds or rubies.  Audrey loved sewing and baking and was best known for her Christmas cookies that she made every year.  She loved frying up Springer Mountain Farms chicken thighs with her great-grandchildren.

Audrey was a God loving woman with a beautiful faith; she was passionate about her family and loved them deeply.

In addition to her parents and many siblings, she was preceded in death by her loving husband and father of her children, Ervin Franklin Smith and her beloved companion of 23 years, Jessee James Curry.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Barbara Denise “Gabbie” Blevins and husband Stuart of Damascus, Virginia; her son, Scott Smith and wife Jackie of Bristol, Virginia; granddaughters, Jennifer Smith of Bristol, Virginia, Aliceanna Smith of the home, and Julia Smith and fiancé Aaron Marcum of Seminole, Florida; great-grandchildren, Lexie Cordle, Audrey Spiva, Jordyn Robinson, Montana Robinson, Issac Booher, and Juila's niece Winnie Marcum.   Audrey is also survived by one brother, Wilard Artemis Stiltner and wife Katherine of Worthington, Pennsylvania; one sister-in-law, Anna Stiltner of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and many nieces and nephews.

A special heartfelt thanks to the nurses and CNAs of Martha’s Ridge at Abingdon Health and Rehab for their dedication, compassionate care, and love during her time there.  She loved each one of you.

A Celebration of Life to honor Audrey will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at her granddaughter’s church, Woodland Hills, in Meadowview, Virginia from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. A private burial for family and close friends will be held on October 19, 2024, at noon in Big Rock, Virginia at Mountain Valley Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations be made to the Tricities Champions Charity -  1227 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, Tennessee, 37620 - for all they do for special needs children.

Frost Funeral Home and Cremation Services is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Audrey Smith.
