Ann Ramsey of Charlotte, NC passed away Oct. 24, 2024. She was born in Bedford, VA in 1946 to Martha and Curtis Ramsey. Ann, one of four girls, grew up in Abingdon, VA where she graduated from high school in 1965. She attended the College of William and Mary following in the footsteps of her father and sister, Martha Lee. She was one of the first students accepted on early admission.
After college Ann settled in Texas for many years. One of her favorite jobs was as Executive Assistant to the Director of the Cowboy Artists of America Museum in Kerrville, TX. She moved to Charlotte in 1988 and worked for Total Care for many years. She enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling and taking care of her cats.
Ann is survived by her sisters Susan (William) Ackerman, Julia (Tony) Walker and partner Mike Gosey. She is also survived by nieces Mollie Flounlacker, Elizabeth Ackerman, Catherine Walker, nephews James Ackerman and Bryan Walker and cousins Loretta Dillon and Sarah Glod. She was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Lee Benz.
In lieu of flowers, plant some. Ann was an avid gardener and loved flowers. Also, think of adopting a cat.
A burial service will be held in Abingdon at Knollkreg Cemetary in the spring
