Alice Jenell Owens

Alice Jenell Owens, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 21, 2026, just one day after celebrating her 89th birthday.

Born on February 20, 1937, in Tralee, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Vance Ray and Nancy Jane Bell.

Alice was a woman of strong faith, deep love for her family, and quiet strength. Her life was a testament to devotion — to God, to her family, and to those she held dear.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, one daughter, and one great-grandson.

She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her daughter, Debarah Billings (Tommy); her son, Emanuel Dean Whitt (Cindy); one granddaughter, Kristen Nicole Whitt; three grandsons, Christopher Neil Billings, David Michael Billings (Marcy), and Jeremy Lee Billings (Jenny); one great-granddaughter, Anastasia Billings; two great-grandsons, Ayden Billings and Luke Hutson; as well as several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Alice’s greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her legacy of love, faith, and resilience will live on through each of them.

Family and friends will gather for a graveside service on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Greencove Baptist Church Cemetery, Jeb Stuart Hwy Route 58 Greencove, Virginia 24226, proceeding from Frost Funeral Home at 1:15 P.M. Those attending are kindly asked to be at the funeral home by 1:00 P.M., as the procession will depart promptly at 1:15 P.M. Family members will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Greencove Baptist Church Cemetery.
