Alice Faye Brewer Buchanan, 80, of Damascus, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Maddie Brewer; brothers and sisters, Albert Charles Brewer, Willie Mack Handy, Virginia Lee Mills, Edith May Brewer, Burt McKinley Brewer, Martha Gaye Payne, Harry James Brewer, Nellie June Brewer, Larry Vaughn Brewer and her son, James Lynn “Sonny” Buchanan.
Alice Faye is survived by one brother, Glen Clayton Brewer of Forestville, Md.; and sister, Mary Ellen Walls of Damascus, Va. Alice Faye is also survived by her loving companion, Herbert Wayne Rust who never left her side; two daughters, Victoria Buchanan Snider of Rockville, Md. and Deborah Sue Cox of Damascus, Va.; four grandchildren, Alicia Reed of Frederick, Md., Jacob Snider of Cummings, Ga., Kate Narang of Durham, NC., and Greg Snider of Rockville, Md.; and two great grandchildren, Hailey and Carly Reed.
Alice Faye was a prayer warrior, had a wonderful zest for life and adored time with her family. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 18, 2018, at 11:00 am at Whitetop Community Center,16309 Highlands Parkway, Whitetop, Va. Brother Seth Walls is officiating; lunch reception following.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Tambi, staff, and the Comfort Care Unit at Johnston Memorial Hospital for taking such good care of mother.
