Virginia Nell Parris

Virginia Nell Parris, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026. Born on July 14, 1932, to the late Rhuben and Virgie Eggers, she lived a life defined by strength, devotion, and quiet resilience.

Virginia had a deep love for gardening, finding great joy in tending to her vegetables and flowers. Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing spirit—carefully cultivated, vibrant, and full of life.

Above all, she was a devoted mother to her son, Calvin. After the passing of her husband, Clarence Parris, Virginia courageously raised Calvin on her own, dedicating her life to ensuring he was supported, loved, and guided with unwavering care. Her strength and determination were a testament to her character and her deep love for her family.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Joy Parris; her four sisters, Lucille Mays, Ruth Walsh, Gladys Head, and Peggy Christian; and her three brothers, Walter Eggers, Rhuben K. Eggers, Jr., and Luther Eggers.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Calvin Parris; her grandson, Destin Parris; her two brothers, Eddie Eggers and William “Billy” Eggers; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.

Virginia’s life was a beautiful example of perseverance, devotion, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew her.
