Stella Christine Harless Hughes, age 60, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at her home.
She was born on February 21, 1958, in Washington County, Virginia, a daughter of Stuart Harless and Shirley Fields Harless. Stella attended Abingdon High School and was well traveled, living in many places throughout her years. She will be remembered for her loving and vibrant personality. Working as a beautician she had a passion for style and fashion. She always had a place in her heart for animals especially her beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Pockie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stuart William Harless. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Hughes; her mother, Shirley Fields Harless of Abingdon; one son, Michael Balthazrr and wife, Michelle of Greer, S.C.; one daughter, Casey Pickreign and husband, Arthur, of Williamsburg, Va.; one sister, Sandra Harless Singleton and husband, Rob, of Abingdon; one brother, Stacy Harless of Abingdon; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Friday, December 21, 2018, at 6 p.m. at Greendale Chapel with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 5 p.m. until time of the service.
