Sarah Jean Martin Bryant, 75, of Abingdon, VA. went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Bristol, TN.

She was born in Chilhowie, VA. on September 10, 1946, a daughter to the late John Ryburn Martin and Mabel B. Blevins.


Sarah Jean married her husband, Karl L. Bryant on September 28, 1962 in Chilhowie, VA. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family and loving and caring for them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Rush Creek Baptist Church.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, R.N. Martin and Tancy Barker Blevins; a brother, John Michael Martin.


Sarah Jean is survived by her loving husband, Karl L. Bryant; one daughter, Karla B. Everts (David); two sons, Leslie Bryant (Ada) and Justin Bryant; seven grandchildren, April N. Hartman (Franklin), Jeremy E. Everts (Christia), Annie Breeding (Spencer), Megan Parson (Sammy), Joey Bryant, Bradley McConnell, April McConnell; eleven great-grandchildren, Alex Leonard, Harley Hartman, Jason Hartman, Caiden Everts, Jasper Breeding, Max Breeding, Lilly Parson, Abby Parson, Scotty Williams, Skylar Carberry, and Rebecca Price; six sisters, Peggy Roberts, Helen Bryant (JR), Eula Doss (Jim), Elaine Martin (Russ), Debbie Henderson, Tammy Allison (James); one brother, David Martin (Beverly).


A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery, 30080 Hawthorne Dr., Meadowview, VA. 24361 with Elder Curt Heath officiating. The family ask that you dress casually.


Pallbearers will be Jeremy Everts, Alex Leonard, Harley Hartman, Jason Hartman, Franklin Hartman, and Karl L. Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Parson, Bradley McConnell, Floyd Everts, Dale Bryant, JR Bryant, Max Bryant, Ben Heath, David Everts, Bill Neese, Floyd Southerland, and David Everest.


A special thank you to Lori Campbell, Caris Health Care, and Ballad Home Health Nurses, for all of the love and support to our mother and family.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Frost Funeral Home.
