Robert “Bobby” Allen McCroskey, 82, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at NHC in Bristol, Virginia.
Bobby was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting, especially on Smith Creek, where he was a life-long resident.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Coy McCroskey; mother, Mildred Virginia White McCroskey; his beloved aunt, Frances White.
Survivors include his loving companion of 23 years, Phyllis Isaacs; one daughter and special son-in-law, Becky and Ray Teaster; one granddaughter, Megan Teaster; his sisters, Carol Johnson and Judy Montgomery; special aunts, Daisy Wampler and Clara Booher; many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery on Rich Valley Road with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 P.M. In honor of Bobby’s wishes, those in attendance are invited to wear camo clothing.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Dotson, Shane Johnson, Lance Johnson, Gage Johnson, Patrick Johnson, and Jody Rasnake. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Teaster, Jon Carter, Cody Johnson, Brandon Dotson, Bobby Wayne Andis, Glenn Peters, Jerry Bott, Steve Booher, Brian Montgomery, Darren Montgomery, Eric Montgomery, Spurgeon McCroskey, and Fred Andis.
