Robert "Bob" Fields, 84, a lifelong resident of Washington County, VA. passed away on February 9, 2022 at Johnston Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Russell County, VA., the son of the late Jack Fields and Myrtle Salyers Fields.
He worked for Clinchfield Coal Company for over 12 years. He was a member at Carvosso Methodist Church. He loved to play aggravation hand and foot card games.
Including his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother Russell Fields and wife Georgeann; two sisters, Hazel Patrick and husband Ezra, Virginia Meade and husband Bill; one brother-in-law, Howard Salyer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty B. Fields of the home. One sister, Lizzie Salyer of Bristol, Virginia and one Niece and several Nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Bill Breeding and Rev. Marsha Rasnake officiating.
Pallbearers will be Vann Roark, Johnny Dotson, Bobby Cuddy, Michael Patrick, Thomas Lilly, Tony Williams.
