Bristol, Tenn.
Regis Stiltner, 82, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center after a long courageous battle with congestive heart failure.
His parents were Charlie and Lou (Clevinger) Stiltner of Grundy, Va. where Regis lived and worked most of his life until moving to Bristol, Tenn. in 1990.
Including his parents, Regis is preceded in death by his two sisters, Eunice Eledge and Mervis Matney; and one son, Reggie.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Mary (Gillespie); daughter, Renee Helms; grandchildren, Luke, Marcus, and Rachel; several cousins and a longtime special friend, Tony Childress.
Regis was a superintendent of Water Works Department in Grundy, Va., a teacher of plumbing at the Buchanan Vocational School, the president of Modern Mining Inc., and a Tele-Optics supervisor. He was of the Baptist faith and attended New Grace Baptist Church of Bristol, Tenn.
Regis was truly loved by the Gillespie family for his personality, work ethic, kindness, friendship, helpfulness, and devotion to everyone. He was a man of few words but many talents.
His grandchildren will always remember their “Papa” as having an exceptional heart for service and gentle hands in guidance.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., on Saturday, April 17, 2021, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., with Rev. Hans Hess and Brother Sam Haynes officiating.

In accordance with Covid-19 regulations, the funeral home requests the use of face coverings and social distancing practices while attending the services.
