Gloria Claudette Matney Smith

Gloria Claudette Matney Smith, 74, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Carrington Place in Rural Retreat, VA.

Claudette was a native of Buchanan County, Va., and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ron Keith Matney; parents, Willard Wilson Holbrook and Helen Elizabeth Church Holbrook; and one daughter, Dianna Lynn Epling.

Survivors include her two children, Audrey Kirk and husband Terry of Bluefield, Va., and Steven Epling and wife, Buffy of Maryville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Hannah Epling, Dexter Kirk and Tabitha Kirk; one sister, Pamela Stiltner and husband, Cecil; and two brothers, Jerry Matney and wife, Mary and Ray Holbrook and wife, Tara; beloved nephews and nieces, Carter and Joseph Matney, Jonathan and Tyler Holbrook, Jenna Stiltner Johnson and Casey Holbrook; many cousins and friends she loved dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M., on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Elder Jerry Matney, Elder Billie Campbell and Bro. William McClanahan officiating. Those attending are asked to gather at the cemetery by 1:45 P.M.

In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, all those attending services are asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
