Dora Mae (Lawson) McCormick, 90, of Abingdon, VA., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 22, 2021.
She was a lifelong resident of Abingdon and Washington Co., VA. She spent the majority of her life serving her family as a homemaker and was a member of Damascus Road Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Herman (Bo) McCormick Jr.; one daughter, Linda South; two brothers, Charles Lawson and Bobby Lawson; one sister, Katherine Browning.
Survivors include one sister Margaret Osborne of Saginaw MI.; two daughters, Patty Dove (James) of Old Hickory, TN. and Donna Callahan (Kenny) of Hayes, VA.; two sons, Mark McCormick (Christy) and John McCormick (Susan) both of Abingdon, VA.; nine grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 A.M., at Forrest Hills Memory Gardens with Dora’s Grandson, Rev. Dr. Kenneth Dove officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present members of the Abingdon Fire Department.
The Family would like to thank the ladies at Commonwealth Assisted Living who truly loved and cared for Dora. Also, Caris Hospice for their care over the past few weeks.

In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, all those attending services are asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
