Delta "Louise" Jennelle

Delta “Louise” Jennelle, 77, of Abingdon, Va., and formerly of Fairfax, Va., went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2021, after a lengthy battle with metastatic breast cancer.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, David Wayne Jennelle, Sr.; parents, James Richardson and Wave Faircloth Gilley and two brothers, Jimmy and Ernest Richardson.


She is survived by her three children, David Jr. and wife Sheila of Centreville, Va., Rodney of Abingdon and Sheila of Toano, Va.; grandchildren, Kevin Strouth, Courtney Jennelle, Austin Jennelle and Ashley Duncan; one great grandson, Kai Strouth; brothers, Buck Richardson, Richard Richardson, and Jerry Gilley; sisters, Mary Shoemake, Sharon Hodges, Sue Graham, Sandy Booker, Deloris Brooks and Teresa Gilley; sisters-in-law, Jean Richardson, Lillian Unruh and Christine Cullop; as well as many special nieces and nephews.


Louise spent her lifetime devoted to her family. After moving to Abingdon, she got her first job working at the local Kmart where she worked for 15 years before retiring in 2010. She enjoyed listening to, reading and watching shows about traditional country music and the artists and their lives. She was a member of Azen Missionary Baptist Church.


Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2021, at Azen Missionary Baptist Church, 21419 Azen Road (Rt. 602) Konnarock, Va., 24236. A funeral service will follow at the church with Pastor Jim Lundy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.


Pallbearers will be David Jennelle, Doug Cullop, Josh Cullop, Chip Jennelle, Tommy Richardson and Jim Watson.


In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are suggested to Azen Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.


In accordance with COVID-19 regulations, all those attending services are asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
