Chester Olin Crain, 59, passed away April 5, 2021 at his residence in Saltville, VA.


Mr. Crain was born December 21, 1961 to the late Fonzie and Katherine Phillips Crain in North Carolina.


Mr. Crain was an avid ginseng farmer who met many friends along the way. “Bigfoot” as he was known by many, was always sharing his knowledge, resources, and experience for those wanting to learn the trade. He was an avid outdoors man, historian, machinist, and most of all a true friend. Above all he loved the time spent with his grandchildren.


Including his parents, he is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and one grandchild, Baby Coleman.


Survivors include his loving wife, Pam Crain; three children, Rusty Lindsey, Joseph Coleman (Courtney), Whitney Coleman (SummerJade); several brothers and sisters; four grandchildren, Ashton Chafin, Gage Coleman, Aleigha Coleman, and Piper Coleman; also, several nieces, nephews, and many beloved friends.


Visitation for the family will be held from 5 PM until 7 PM Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Frost Funeral Home with a service following at 7 PM with Pastor Gordon Smith officiating.


In accordance with Covid-19 regulations, the funeral home requests the use of face coverings and social distancing practices while attending the services.
