Violet Evelyn Wilcox of Damascus, Virginia passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at her home.

She was born July 14, 1934, in Laurel Bloomery to the late Chester T. Osborne, Sr. and Mattie Debusk Osborne.

Violet was a lifelong resident of Damascus and a member of Damascus Church of Christ.

Including her parents, Violet is preceded by her brother Chester T. Osborne, Jr.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Johnny Wilcox; daughter Carrie "Libby" Bare (Kenneth "Bo"); grandson Benny Lee Bare (Meagan); granddaughter Kari Bare; great grandchildren Jackson and Abby; Sister-in-law Virginia "Jenny" Osborne.

Pallbearers will be Ben Bare, Jackson Nettles, Bo Bare, Allen Stanley, Darrell Trivett, Rick DeArmond, Danny Thomas, and Eddie Campbell.

A visitation will be held at Frost Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. A graveside will follow in procession to Sunset Memorial Park with Minister Walter Staude officiating.  Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Frost Funeral Home by 11:45 A.M. to go in procession.
