Vickie Lynn Davis, of Meadowview, Virginia, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on July 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Vickie lived a beautiful life full of love and laughter. Born in Tazewell, VA, daughter to the late Cylden Cordell and late Olive Cordell, Vickie achieved many successes throughout her life. As a teen, Vickie showcased her beauty when crowned Miss Tazewell County Beauty Pageant Queen. She was also awarded Head Majorette at Tazewell High School where she was a student. Vickie married her teenage sweetheart, Gene Davis, and they made a wonderful life of 61 years, married 56, filled with many adventures including two daughters, Veronica and Jill.

Vickie loved swimming, exercising, dancing, traveling, and music. Her passion for teaching led her to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Bluefield State University, where she entered the profession as a teacher at Tazewell Elementary School succeeding as a first-grade educator for many years. Vickie's entrepreneurial spirit led her and her husband to become owners of Landmark Foods in Springville, VA, where Vickie brought life and success to the business.

As a devoted wife and mother, Vickie always prioritized her family and enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and teaching each and every one the skills necessary to conquer their first day of school. Vickie mentored and cheered her family throughout their many successes, and all of the lives she touched will forever be changed. Vickie will be incredibly missed by those who knew and loved her dearly.

Vickie is survived by her devoted husband, Gene Davis, and her two loving daughters, Veronica Lynn Davis Quina and Jill Marie Davis Wood; six grandchildren: Dustin Wood (Nick), Brent Clifton (Alicia), Tori Wood (Mel), Gage Quina, Seciley Quina, and Paxton Wood; four great-grandchildren: Declan Clifton, Everett Clifton, Vivian Wycoff, and Tyler Wycoff; brother Steve Cordell (Brenda); brother-in-law Larry Davis (Lisa); brother-in-law Greg Davis; and many loving family members. Vickie is preceded in death by her father, Cylden Cordell; mother, Olive Cordell; brother, Cornel Cordell; father-in-law, Vernie Davis; mother-in-law, Frances Davis; sister-in-law, Faye Davis; and sister-in-law, Norma Veltri.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia. An entombment service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Knollkreg Memorial Park Mausoleum in Abingdon, Virginia with Pastor Steve Vaughan officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 P.M.
