Vanessa Diane McMurray, age 67, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026. She was born on October 4, 1959, to the late Robert and Elizabeth Woodward.

Diane was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Virginia, and a member of Corner House Church. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Ballad Health. Through her work, she touched the lives of many, providing care and compassion to those in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael McMurray; and two half-sisters, Wendy and Shelby.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Calvin Woodward; sister, Kathy Bowman (Ray); half-brother, James Gauldin; special friend, Marsha St. John; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Frost Funeral Home in Abingdon, Virginia with funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Ray Bowman and Pastor Sammy Vickers officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Tate Cemetery in Abingdon, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Joey Moore, John Howell, Seth Killen, Jarred Killen, Josh Killen, and Calvin Woodward.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Bowman, Junior Rose, and Jacob Owens.
