Stonewall Jackson Stewart, 81, went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2026. He was born on March 17, 1945, to the late Joseph and Virginia Stewart.

Stonewall was a devoted member of Damascus Road Baptist Church. He found great joy in gardening and loved anything that involved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pat Stewart; three brothers, Bill Stuart, Dutch Stuart, and George Stuart; and two sisters, Mary Neal and Margie Harold.

He is survived by his two sons, Jack Stewart and Chuck Stroup; three daughters, Gail Berry, Teena Price, and Tammy Johnson; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Stuart; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Mike Stieger.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Damascus Road Baptist Church, with a service to follow. Pastor Caleb Holeman will officiate. A committal service will follow, proceeding to Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Burnette, Austin Berry, Hunter Price, Christy Johnson, Jack Stewart, and Mike Stieger. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Johnson, Church Stroup, Shane Lowe, and the men of Damascus Road Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Damascus Road Baptist Church, 18844 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24211.
