Shirley Sue Scott Hagy, a lifelong native of Abingdon, Virginia, passed peacefully on Sunday, Jun 5, 2022.

Shirley married James F. Hagy (Jim) of Abingdon on June 7, 1958 and enjoyed 66 wonderful years together.

Shirley was a long-time member of the United Church of God of Kingsport. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved all God's creatures, found joy in flower gardening, and used her gifts to serve others.

She is preceded in death by her parents and all siblings.

Survivors include her husband Jim; daughter, K. Beth Hagy Duffield and son-in-law, Daniel J. Duffield of Murfreesboro, TN; grandsons, Wesley S. and Andrew M. Duffield; and many beloved nieces, nephews and grand and great-nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens Pavilion with Jay Ledbetter officiating. Gathering of family and friends will take place at Pleasant View United Methodist Church following the graveside service until 7:00 P.M.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the United Church of God, Kingsport, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Washington County Life Saving Crew.
