Obituary

Shelby Diana Belcher, 69, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026.

Born in Richlands, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Kathleen Yates. Diana was a faithful member of Finney Baptist Church and lived a life centered on faith, family, and love.

Known affectionately as "Momaw," Diana's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and never missed a ballgame, school function, or special event. Her unwavering support, encouragement, and presence in their lives created cherished memories that will be treasured forever.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Scott Yates; sister-in-law, Judy Renee Yates; nephew, Nathan Sample; and great-niece, Isabella Ramey.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 51 years, Ronald Belcher; two daughters, Brandi Jessee and husband Matthew, and Erin Cann and husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Kathryn Jessee, Layne Jessee, William Jessee, and Levi Cann; brother, Jerry Yates and wife Connie; sister-in-law Juanita Sample and husband Barry; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Swords Creek Community Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow with Pastor Mike McGlothlin officiating.

Diana will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her kind heart, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her legacy lives on in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
