Sandra Marie Walton, age 59, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026. She was born on February 23, 1967, in Saltville, Virginia.

Sandra dedicated over 40 years of her life to nursing, a profession she carried out with compassion, strength, and unwavering care for others. She found joy in music, caring for her animals, cooking, traveling, reading, and antiquing—simple pleasures that reflected her warm and curious spirit.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Chapman, and her brother, Randy Hartzog.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband, Chris Walton; her mother, Dollie Carter; her stepfather, Robert Carter; her sister, Tammy Helton (Rick); and her brothers, Tom Chapman (Amy), Bobby Chapman (Lisa), Mark Hartzog (Anita), and Richard Hartzog (Michelle). She also leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews, Bryce Chapman, Ben Chapman, Dalton Chapman (Adrian), Sarah Chapman, Aiden Chapman, Allie Cooper, and Abby Lawson.

In addition, Sandra is fondly remembered by her very special friends, Bob Surber, Deborah Colley, and Deena Gilliam, along with many others whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, 1007 East Main Street, Saltville, VA 24370.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Church of the Nazarene, P.O. Box 369, Saltville, VA 24370.

Sandra will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the joy she brought to those around her.
