Sammy Neil Salyer, 77, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025.

Born to the late Ivory and Ramona Salyer, Sammy was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and his passion for music. Above all, Sammy loved spending time with his family, and he will be deeply missed by his loved ones.

Sammy was preceded in death by his two sisters, Edith and Joan; six brothers, Darius, Donald, Dolan, Leon, Gene, and Jimmy; and his great-grandson, Phoenix Roark.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Salyer; his six daughters, Gloria (Mario), Barbara, Samantha (Thomas), Lisa (Matthew), Melissa, and Katara; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jessee; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Jerry Little.

The family is grateful for the love and support they have received during this time.
