Roy Maynard Barker, Jr., passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 in Abingdon, VA.

Maynard was born on June 8, 1954, a son of the late Roy M. Barker, Sr. and Ruby Wynegar Barker in Abingdon, VA.

Maynard was a lifelong resident of Abingdon, VA in the area called Holston, VA. He worked multiple jobs which include Bristol Compressors, green houses, and tree trimming. He was also a handy-man that could work on anything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and finding ginseng while roaming river bottoms and mountain sides. He also loved his hot muscle cars and country music.

Including his parents, Maynard is preceded in death by his brother, Danny Barker; sister, Wanda J. Reynolds; and nephew, Roy L. Reynolds.

Maynard is survived by brother, Carl Barker and wife, Shirley; two sisters, Mary Lee and husband, Darryl, Bonnie Booher and husband, Jerry; brother-in-law, Bob Reynolds; many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Per Maynard's request, there will be no services.
