Ronald Lee Luck 86 of Abingdon, Va devoted husband, father, minister, and lifelong craftsman, passed away on February 28, 2026, after a life defined by faith, family, and service. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Ron was the beloved son of Ernest and Jerry Luck.
Ron dedicated 35 years to serving as a Minister of Music and Youth, touching countless lives through his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to his church community. His gift for guiding young people and uplifting others through music became one of his greatest legacies.
A man who deeply loved the outdoors, Ron found joy in camping, water skiing, golfing, and tending to his garden and flowers at home. His creativity and skilled hands extended beyond hobbies —he owned and operated his own business, Clover Leaf Enterprises, where he earned a reputation as someone who could fix anything.
On June 18, 1960, Ron married the love of his life, Nancy Barefoot, beginning a beautiful journey that spanned 65 years. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and strong family values. They were blessed with two children, Stephen Lee Luck and Christy L. McCormick who remains forever grateful for the example he set and the love he so freely gave.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and steadfast love. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to his family and ministry, and the countless ways he made life brighter for those around him.
Ron was preceded in death by his Parents Ernest and Jerry Luck, a brother Wayne and a sister Diane, and a Daughter Diana Eldridge.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years Nancy B. Luck; son Stephen L Luck, (Cindy); daughter, Christy L. McCormick (Mark); brothers, Ray Luck (Ann), Richard Luck, (Becky); grandchildren Ashley Deafenbaugh (Mike), Jenny Stainker, (Brian), Josh Luck (Tiina), Kaitlin Dobry (Jake), Jacob Luck; 8 great-grandchildren Liam, Addy, Kolby, Beau, Allyse, Braelynn, Luke and Samuel, and several nieces and nephews, friends and Ron's buddy, Ted Castle.
A visitation will be held on Saturday March 7 th , 2026, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Fellowship Chapel, 201 Crockett Street, Bristol, VA 24201, with funeral service to follow with Rev. Scott Price officiating. Committal service will be held on Monday, March 9 th , 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Mark McCormick, Ted Castle, Kolby Hicks, Beau Mullins, Brian Stainker, Jake Dobry, Mike Deafenbaugh, Liam Deafenaugh, Josh Luck, and Jacob Luck.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men of Followship Chapel.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Caris Hospice Care, Debbie Price, and Ray Roberts for their care during Ron's illness.
The family will receive friends and family at the home of Mark and Christy McCormick 319 Morningside Dr Abingdon, Virginia 24210.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fellowship Chapel Building Fund, in memory of Ronald Luck.
