Rocky Montana Prater,58, went to be with the Lord on February 25, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 09, 1963 to the late Elmer Clifton and Lola Agnes Sykes Prater in Saltville, VA. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go hunting and fishing. He worked for 7 years for KVAT which he loved dearly. He was a devoted member at Gospel Tabernacle.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Cindy Prater; daughter, Tasha Whittaker and husband Brett; son, Ryan Prater and wife Cheyenne; two brothers, Paul Prater and wife Connie, and Lane Prater and wife Nancy; eight grandchildren, Montana Stewart, Bailee Whittaker, Easton Whittaker, Braxton Prater, Mason Turley, Madison Bartlett, Colton Prater, and Arizona Prater; also several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, February 28, 2022 at Blackwell Chapel Church Cemetery with Pastor David Robins and Pastor Ronnie Matney officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 P.M.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Frank Stanley, Jason Smith, Brett Whittaker, Ryan Prater, Jerry Harless, Paul Prater, Lane Prater, and Darrell Helton.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St . Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
