Mr. Robert "Bob" E. Foster, 96, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Bob was a life-long farmer and livestock dealer and purchased cattle throughout the South. In 2020, he was inducted into the Virginia Livestock Hall of Fame at Virginia Tech. He loved to see the country in his motorhome and even traveled to Alaska. Bob loved history and reading and told many stories of his days serving as a mail clerk on the Creeper Trail train during World War II.

Bob is survived by his wife Jean; one son, Butch Foster and wife Debbie; one daughter, Susie Sissom and husband Chuck; one sister, Cora Lee; three grandsons, Brad Foster, Charlie Sissom, and Tom Sissom; one granddaughter, Lindsey Foster; two great- granddaughters, Lindsey Bare and Kendra Foster; many friends from his R.V. travels also survive.

The family plans to hold a private memorial service at a later date.
