Robert “Bob” M. Dowell, 86, of Bristol, VA went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Friday, July 3, 2026. Robert was a faithful servant of the Lord. He cherished his family; he enjoyed spending time with his son raising and racing pigeons. Robert was a proud Army veteran; he served as a Ballistic Missile Specialist. After many years of hard work and dedication, he retired from Reynolds Metal.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Mae Childress and Melvin M. Dowell and his bother Don Dowell.

Left here to cherish his memories is his beloved wife of 60 years, Charlotte “Linda” Dowell; treasured son Phil Dowell; sister Judy (George) Houser; and several nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at the Mountain View Cemetery in Bristol, TN with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45P.M.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to his niece, Mary Brooks, who has helped care for him during his sickness.

The family will have visitation at their home, 10437 Goose Creek Rd. Bristol, Va. 24202.
