Ramona Lenore Knox Bailey, age 71, passed away on January 10, 2024, at Bristol Regional Medical Center, due to complications from Covid.

Ramona "Mona" was born on March 7, 1952, in Bristol, Tennessee to Robert and Mary Alice Knox.

A life-long resident of Washington County, Virginia, Mona graduated from Bristol Virginia High School in 1970. She attended Sullins College and graduated from Virgina Intermont College, with studies in sociology.  Mona was a counselor for Highlands Community Services for nearly 30 years.

Mona loved to work in her garden, do crafting projects, cook and play with her dog "Boo Boo".  A close family friend noted that he never worried about being hungry if Mona was invited to an event. She loved to take care of other people.  She will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Alice Knox, and her brother-in-law, Steven Shelley.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Mike "Bo" Bailey, brother Bobby Knox (Martha), sister Michele Knox, brother Neil Knox (Jane), nephew Conner Knox and niece Maggie Knox.

A private service is planned for Ms. Bailey.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Washington County Animal Shelter.
