Peggy Hanson Dickenson Donaldson passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Oakmont at Gordon Park in Bristol, VA.

Peggy was born on May 1, 1928 to the late Billy and Rosa Dickenson.

Peggy was a member of Abingdon United Methodist Church and attended State Street United Methodist Church.

Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Nelson Donaldson, Jr.

Survivors include two children, Catherine Donaldson Brillhart (Richard). Louise Hatcher McDermott (Gary); four grandchildren, Christopher Hatcher, Caitlin Hatcher Powers, Brian Brillhart, and Wesley Brillhart; two great-grandchildren, Witten Powers and Knox Powers.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Abingdon United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Paul Seay officiating. A committal service will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, VA. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Abingdon United Methodist Church, State Street United Methodist Church, or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Brookdale Bristol, which was her home for 17 years, and Oakmont at Gordon Park, where she currently resided. Also, thank you to Norma with Amedisys Home Health.
