Pearl Price Hayter, a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on September 23rd, 2026 at the age of 91.

She was born February 25th, 1935 to Willie Mae and Richard Price. She was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings and her beloved husband Wayne Hayter.

Pearl was a member of Abingdon Baptist Church. She was the business manager at Barter Theater for forty-three years. Pearl enjoyed cooking for family, she always wanted you to eat if you came to her house. Pearl loved her family.

She is survived by her daughter Amy Dye and husband Tim, son Hank Hayter and wife Julia, grandsons Grant Dye wife Brennan, Michael and Henry Hayter; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Though our hearts are broken by her absence we find comfort knowing she is now in the presence of her Heavenly Father, free from pain and suffering and reunited with our Dad.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Abingdon Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 P.M. with Dr. Bill Bryan officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, Virginia. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
