Paul Edward McPeake, passed away September 17, 2026 at the age of 78, in Abingdon VA following an extended illness.

Paul was born on March 23, 1948 in Slab Fork WV.

He was an exceptional coal miner in WV and VA for a combined total of 35 years. Paul was an avid sports fan; enjoying College Basketball, WNBA, and Little League World Series. Paul was well known for being a sharp dresser, always showing up in a spotless vehicle. In his younger years, Paul was known for sweeping people off their feet with his impressive dance moves.

He is survived by his wife Judy of 58 years, and their son Michael. Survivors include his twin sister Paula Stables (Roger), and sister Geraldine Cox (Les), and Aunt Ella “Cubby” Bowman. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family to include his brother by choice James Jarvis; along with his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Collins McPeake, and his father Moyer McPeake; his sister Ruth Cox, brothers: Richard McPeake, Gary Utt, Jackie McPeake, and Samuel Alfred McPeake.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, followed by a graveside burial scheduled for a later date at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV. The family encourages everyone to share their fun and fondest memories of Paul, including any photos, on the website, to be shared during the graveside service.
