Mary Ellen Louthian, 66, of Meadowview, Va., passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 20, 1955, in Washington County, Va., to the late Roy Prater and Virginia Humphrey Prater.

Mary lived most of her life in the Washington County, Va., area and operated a day care from her home for many years. She loved fishing and playing computer games.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Everett "Jarfly" Louthian; children, Malinda Worley (Darrell), Darrell Louthian (Becky) and Eric Louthian (Michelle); grandchildren, Brooke, Jeremiah, Chase, Brylee, and Brayden Louthian; Dakotah, Hailey, Hannah, Kierra, Keighlee and Khloe Williams; Dakota, Chyenne and Katie Rector; great grandchildren, Reagan and Rhyker Schrickel and Rylynn Williams; sisters, Linda Osborne (Lionel), Ann Jenkins (Chester), Pam Puckett (Mark) and Nancy Little (Ronald); brother, Mike Prater; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice and Palliative Care of Virginia and nurses, Mary Ray and Kristi White for the care they provided.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the Old Baptist Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va., with Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
