Mary Jane Arnold, 66, of Abingdon, Virginia, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Johnson Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 16, 1959, in Abingdon, Virginia, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Jack and Martha Abel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Dwaine Arnold Jr.; her sister, Deborah Kay Hargrove; and her brother, John Abel.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amber Arnold Wilkinson and husband, Mark; her beloved grandchildren, Myleigh and Chesney Wilkinson; her sister, Diane Link; her brothers, Jackie Abel, George Abel, and James Abel; and her close friends, Rhonda, Judy, and Sandra.

Mary Jane's greatest joy in life was her two grandchildren, Myleigh and Chesney. They were the center of her world and brought her endless love and happiness.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Johnson Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care they provided to Mary Jane.

A memorial gathering will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Junior Gobble officiating.
