Marguerite Elkins, age 90, passed away on July 10, 2024, in the Johnson City Medical Center.

Marguerite was born on July 3, 1934, to the late Dewey Cole and Margaret Cunningham Cole in Richlands, Virginia.

Marguerite retired from the United States Post Office after 30 years of service. She enjoyed spending time outside working, loved visiting with her friends and was known for being an avid cook.

In addition to her parents, Marguerite is preceded in death by her first husband, John W. Hobbs; brothers, Dewey Franklin and Jack C. Cole; sister, Geneva Altizer Millspaw; and her second husband, Robert M. Elkins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, John R. Hobbs (Kim) and Regina Stamper (Boo); sisters, Ann Cantrell, Linda Frazier (Gorman), and Barbara Presley; and sister-in-law Beverly Cole. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend Victoria Hall.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Greenhills Memory Gardens, those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 A.M.
