Margaret Blackwell Long Russell, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, November 23, 2024, at the home of her son.

She was born August 25, 1937, to the late Caney and Edna Mitchell Blackwell.   Margaret loved her flowers and gardening, cooking, and helping others.  She adored her family, and above all, she was a devout Christian who loved her Lord.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Gilmer Long; daughter, Peggy Rankin; two brothers, Richard Blackwell and Garland Blackwell; two sisters, Glenda Townsend and Faye Adams.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Kenny (Diane) Long, Sidney (Sandra) Long, and Richard (Mary) Russell; daughters, Bonnie (Gary) Horn, Juanita Russell, and April Carver; two brothers, Clyde Blackwell and Frank (Myra) Blackwell; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Junior Gobble officiating.   Those wishing to attend the service are asked to arrive at the cemetery by 1:45 P.M.

James Russell, Brian Cartey, Jake Long, Michael Little, David Nelson, Joe Watson, and Joseph Nelson will serve as pallbearers.
