Lora Jane Groves Childress, 63, of Bristol, VA, passed away on January 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Shirley Groves.

Lora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed crafting, taking trips to Pigeon Forge, and spending time with her family. Lora was an avid fan of Grey's Anatomy and cherished moments with her beloved fur babies, including Brownie, Lucky, Macey, Cutie, Chewy, and Mickey. She will always be remembered for her loving spirit, her passion for family, and her sense of humor.

Lora is survived by her loving husband, Randy Rouse; two sons, Dave Childress and companion Trish Dean of Meadowview, VA, and Timothy Childress and wife Sarah of Saltville, VA; one daughter, Malorie Childress of Bristol, VA; three step-sons, Chris, Bryan, and Skyler Rouse of Bristol, VA; her father-in-law, Andy "Bud" Rouse; one brother, Michael Groves of Pittsburg, PA; one sister, Donna McNew Spriggs and husband Bobby of Abingdon, VA; three grandchildren, Skyler Childress, Jayson Childress, and James Dean; one special nephew, Jonathan McNew and wife Alisha of Meadowview, VA. She is also survived by special friends Jennifer Dingus Cox, Andrew Eastridge and wife Jennifer and daughter Marilyn, Junior Campbell, and cousins Aprill, Billy, and Emily Sprivey.

Pallbearers will be Randy Rouse, Jonathan McNew, Andrew Eastridge, Tyler Campbell, Dave Childress, and Jeremy Statzer. Honorary pallbearers will be Skyler Childress, Robert Greer, Scotty Robinson, and Vincent Scott.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Community Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Mountain View Cemetery Mausoleum with Todd officiating. Interment will follow.

Lora's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
