Linda C. Gobble Riffey, 72, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

She was born on March 10, 1949, in Abingdon, Va., to the late Bernard Scott Gobble and Dixie Cox Gobble. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Lee Gobble and Scott Gobble; and two sisters, Evelyn Laih and Brenda Self.

Linda was an avid reader. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Linda loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William "Bill" Riffey; daughter, Belinda Reynolds; son, William "Billy" Riffey; grandchildren, Heather Shea Reynolds, Edward Keith Reynolds, and Savannah Noel Riffey; brother, Randall Gobble; several nieces, nephews, and her little canine pal, Buddy.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2022, at Frost Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday in the chapel with Pastor Ronnie Matney officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Chilhowie, Va.

Pallbearers will be her grandson, Keith Reynolds, Bobby Wayne Gobble, Dennis Gobble, Eugene Gobble, Tony Gobble, Edwin Self and Aaron Gobble. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Blevins, Michael Holmes and Chris Riffey.
