Lillian "Marie" Sexton, 86, of Glade Spring, VA, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Choice Health Care in Abingdon, VA.

Marie was born on July 16, 1935 in Washington County, VA to the late Willie Lee Russ and Mary Catherine Thomas Russ. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Stuart Sexton, infant son. Two brothers, Joe Russ and Tommy Russ.

Marie worked for Washington County Schools prior to her retirement from Westinghouse Wire Corporation after 19 years of service. Marie enjoyed taking rides through the country, shopping for shoes, spending time with the quilting club at church and enjoying time with family.

Survivors include four children; Wayne Sexton (Lisa) of Chilhowie, VA, Jerry Sexton (Donna), of Meadowview, VA, Joyce Stevens (Mike) of Abingdon, VA and Susan McCormick (John) of Abingdon, VA. One Sister and best "Bud", Betty Sue Brooks of Glade Spring, VA. Brother in Law, Homer Sexton (Doris) of Abingdon, VA. 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M., on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, VA with Pastor Bobby Dunn officiating.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Russ, John McCormick, Mike Stevens, Jerry Sexton, Marty Berry, Matthew Breeding, and Wayne Sexton. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:45 P.M.
