Layton David Henry, Sr. was reunited with his wife, Ruth Ann Minton Henry, on February 2, 2025.

David was born on March 13, 1942, in Abingdon, Virginia. He was a graduate of Bethel High School, Emory and Henry College, and Appalachian State University. David was an educator and administrator for both Smyth County and Washington County school systems.

Family, outdoors, and love of music were the things that he enjoyed most in life. He shared these passions with his two surviving sons and daughter-in-law's, Layton David Henry, Jr. and Shannon Michelle Henry and William Raymond Henry and Christie Ann Henry. He has three grandchildren, Hannah Lee Henry, Layton David Henry, III , and Hallie Brooke Ramsey.

The family will have a private celebration of life service at the Bethel Presbyterian Church cemetery on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
