Larry Madison Mitchell passed away on January 20, 2026. He was born on July 5, 1949, to the late Thomas and Dorsey Mitchell.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved spending time with his family. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by those he loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving spouse, Jill Mitchell; two daughters, Melissa Worley (Chris) and Connie Payne; several stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; as well as a special friend, Ron Franklin.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel in Abingdon, Virginia. Due to weather, a committal service will take place in the Chapel following the funeral service. Burial will be held privately at Greendale Chapel Cemetery in Abingdon, Virginia.
