Kathy Marlene Taylor, 66, of Damascus, Va., passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at her home.

She was born in Maryland and later moved to Elizabethton, Tenn. with her family where she lived for many years. Kathy was a respiratory therapist at Johnston Memorial Hospital for 37 years before retiring in 2019. She enjoyed camping and spending time in the outdoors. Kathy was an avid reader, she adored animals and especially loved taking care of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Addie Oliver.

Left to cherish her memory are her partner of 29 years, Cindy Lavender and daughter, McKenna Hayden; mother, Nadine Ward; grandchildren, Zyleigh and Vylette Hayden; sister, Karen Tyson (Jimmy); brothers, Keith Ward and Keenan Ward (Darla); special nephew, Jed Ward (Nikki and daughter, Skylar); special niece, Ashley Lutz (Rob and sons, Carter and Tanner); special aunts, Wanda, Lois, Bunt and Diane. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial gathering will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022, in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to the Margaret B. Mitchell Clinic, 16222 Lee Hwy, Bristol, Va., 24202.
